What is a Certified Lay Minister (CLM)?
A Certified Lay Minister is a qualified United Methodist layperson called to congregational leadership as part of a ministry team under the supervision a clergyperson. What is a Certified Lay Servant (CLS)?
Lay Servants are to serve the local church or charge in any way in which their witness or leadership and service inspires the laity to deeper commitment to Christ and more effective discipleship. This includes the interpretation of scriptures, doctrine, organization, and ministries of the church.
What is a Lay Speaker?
Certified Lay Servant or person, with equivalent training as defined by his or her district or conference, who provides pulpit supply.
