CLM Trainings:

Module III - Organization of Ministry (Organizing a Congregation for Mission & Ministry)

Training will be held at Summerfield UMC, 7078 Tryon Rd, Longview, Tx 75606.

IMPORTANT: to be eligible to attend CLM training modules, a candidate must:
     Be a Certified Lay Servant and have completed an Advanced Lay Servant Course within the past 4 years
     Be a member of a United Methodist Church
     File a CLM Application and Letter of Recommendation from your local church pastor with the Conference Director of Lay Ministries

Cost is $40.00 and includes all sessions of the Module with a meal.  Make checks payable to Texas Conference and in the memo line write "CLM Training".  Mail check and registration form to Ms. Marylyn Green, Center for Congregational Excellence, 5215 Main St, Houston, Tx 77002.

Saturday, October 20, 2018 &  27, 2018 at 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM both days (Required to attend both days)

Module II - Practice of Ministry (Pasotral Care & Worship, Leading Worship, Preaching/Sharing Faith, Discipleship Ministries & Caring for a Congregation)

Lay Servant Training is a 2-day training event. All attendees must attend both days to receive credit.

Lay Servant Training will be held at Beaumont, First UMC, 701 Calder St, Beaumont, 77701.

Saturday, October 13 & Sunday, October 14, 2018 at 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM

South West District Lay Servant Training
The Lay Servant Academy will be held at First UMC in Sugar Land (431 Eldridge Rd, Sugar Land, Tx 77478) on:
Friday, October 19 (6:30-8:30PM) & Saturday, October 20 (8AM-5PM)
Registration Fee: $20*
(This covers snacks on both days as well as a light breakfast and lunch on Saturday.)

The mission of the Lay Servant Ministries is to equip God's People to do His work and build up the church, the body of Christ. Ephesians 4:11-12

Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM

The Basic Course is for those just beginning in the Lay Servant Ministries.  After the Basic Course, you must complete an Advanced Course to become a Certified Lay Servant.  Certified Lay Servants must complete an Advanced Course every three years in order to remain certified.  Individuals desiring to maintain the status of a Local Church Lay Servant with the District and Conference are required to take a Lay Servant Course every three (3) years.

PLEASE NOTE:  Each person attending the training must stay for all sessions to receive credit.  If you are attending an advance course you must bring proof of current background check or be prepared to fill out application for background check and bring a copy of your Driver's License.
